Velvet Venus explores the concept of the “It Girl” that was introduced into the popular cultural lexicon in 1927 by Author and Screen Writer Elinor Glyn. Her book “IT” would be adapted into one of the most successful silent films of the time, starring the indescribable Clara Bow. This role would go on to immortalize Clara Bow as the first IT Girl of the Silver Screen.

This scent is love letter to women like Clara Bow, Josephine Baker, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe and Edie Sedgwick who all possessed that “IT” that draws others in with magnetic force.

A Note from The Artist on the Creation of Velvet Venus:

“The creation of Velvet Venus took me completely by surprise as I’ve always hated commercial Rose Scents since I was a young girl, I found them to be quite soapy and unpleasant.

I had this blurry concept of a vintage vanilla musk in mind, an ode to the muses of the past, a scent for The Lovers. But I was struggling with the formulation and knew that it was missing something vital. My wife had been encouraging me to add Rose for some time which I insisted would be too soapy and conceptually cliche.

But from that first sample batch using Rose, Velvet Venus was born. A scent that was worthy of the very muses that inspired its creation.”

All Perfumes are meticulously crafted, bottled, labeled and packed by hand. Please allow 2-3 weeks for production and processing!
